Full time, part-time and flexible working patterns will be considered.

Your skills will keep us ahead of the curve.

And your knowledge will protect customers from any curveballs.

You always want to improve, develop and evolve - both yourself, and tech. And it’s this kind of proactive, forward-thinking attitude that we need at HMGCC. It means you’ll keep us ahead of the curve - all while designing secure communications systems for HM Government in the UK and abroad.

The role

With second-to-none expertise, you’ll become vital to the whole software lifecycle. Working on a variety of unique projects, you’ll have a crucial part to play in everything from developing and testing software solutions, to deploying and maintaining systems. And with the freedom to use the languages, platforms and technologies you think most effective, you’ll confidently work to tight timescales. Keen to get the best results, you’ll collaborate with other teams to deliver packages, offer world-class advice and support our customers. And you might even mentor junior engineers. This way, everyone will be ahead of the curve.

Your profile

You’ll be able to design, develop and test software in one or more of C/C++, C# and Java.

You’ll be able to develop for one or more of: Windows, Linux, macOS and Android.

You’ll understand and intelligently debug existing and new software.

You can reason about the performance of different data structures and algorithms.

Genuinely passionate about computing, you’ll be keen to find unique solutions. And although it’s not essential, it would be a huge advantage to have scripting skills and experience of object oriented programming. Knowledge of TDD / Agile / Scrum would also be beneficial.

Rewards

In return, we’ll provide all the training you need to develop your skills. You’ll also get a great rewards package that includes flexible hours and a welcoming workplace.
