Software Engineer, VC++, C#, hardware interfacing, West Yorkshire, 6 months, £40/£44 per hour

A defence based company based in West Yorkshire are looking to bring on a contract VC++, C++ software engineer with C# experience to work on PC application that will interface with an embedded device for the military.

This role is SC cleared but they are happy to put you through it, we have three other software engineers on site and they have all been working on site within a week.

The role will involve developing this application predominantly in VC++ but some modules are in C# and you will be working predominantly on a GUI.

This GUI will involve some legacy MFC code but also new WPF features, you will be working on both of these.

Also while the majority of the work is Windows based in C++ and C#. Linux experience would be advantageous.

Key skills will include:

* Previous experience developing applications that interface with hardware.

* Developing applications in C++ and VC++ and having a strong understanding of the language.

* Proficiency in using C# to work on Winforms/WPF applications.

* Working on Linux systems in addition to Windows would be advantageous.

The role is expected to last at least 6 months but with the possibility of extension, they are looking at paying between £40/£44 per hour, based on experience for the right software engineer with VC++ and C# experience.
