Job Title: Online Editor and Social Media Manager

Location: Pynes Hill, Exeter

Salary: £24,000 per annum

Job Type: Short term maternity contract, Full Time - 6-9 months

A talented Online Editor and Social Media Manager is required for busy a Marketing team, creating unique and original content primarily for use in social media channels to serve the Craft market. This is a fast-paced role in a global media organisation that would suit a motivated and energetic content creator and social media expert looking for a chance to shine.

The successful candidate will be proactive, social-savvy, editorial-friendly, commercially-minded and data driven, with a nose for a good story. Crucially they will be able to deliver content ideas from inception through to completion, delivering post campaign analysis with future recommendations. Ideally they will have first-hand knowledge of craft content and be actively engaged in the craft community. They will be an ideas person, with a high level of energy and enthusiasm for craft.

The key element of this role is to increase traffic and revenue by creating engaging content and strategically delivering this across blogs and social media. With a key goal to grow the community and email database, the role is also highly focused on organic growth through SEO, link building, email address acquisition and customer engagement.

The company is the UK arm of a Content and eCommerce Company with offices across the United States, and now the world's largest craft media group, operating eCommerce stores, content sites, online education programs, video streaming subscriptions, book publishing, events and more. The role is based in Pynes Hill, Exeter, Devon.

Key Responsibilities:

Social Media:

* Social Media Management. Responsible for growing and engaging with our thriving communities in all relevant social channels

* Proactive approach in creating and curating content with focus on how they will be deployed across social channels

* Ability to schedule social posts, segment data and effectively target campaigns

* Daily performance analysis to identify issues, campaign health, opportunities and drive future recommendations

* Be on the front foot with all new Social Media developments and trends, encompassing current and up-coming channels

* Create and maintain an ongoing data driven Social strategy, with clear KPI's

Content Management

* Maintain an acute knowledge of the market and the target audience to formulate a strategy that attracts and grows audience, retains them as members and increases conversions.

* Play an active role in developing and delivering the content strategy, which integrates content, eCommerce and B2C marketing across the eCommerce website and the books programme.

* Collaborate with other marketing team members, content, commercial, technical and operations departments plus contributors to create valuable and timely content

* Understand the different roles that content places in different channels and devise strategies accordingly

* Track and analyse eCommerce conversion to identify problems and opportunities.

Community Development

* Be active and visible in the community, and build links with bloggers, influencers and brand ambassadors to increase visibility

* Develop, manage and participate in social media campaigns across all social media channels

* Develop and run competitions to drive increased engagement and email capture

* Create and manage an online email acquisition strategy that will expand our customer database

Organic Marketing

* Play a lead role in external outreach and link building SEO efforts for the company

* Focus on audience needs and usability throughout the online content creation process and ensure that all online content is optimized for SEO

* Contribute to the development of the Google Visibility Report, and use other SEO tools as provided to ensure all content uses the keywords our audience is using

The Candidate:

* Bachelor's degree (BA) and at least 3 years' experience in content marketing and social media or equivalent experience

* Strong project manager - superior time management skills and proven ability to meet constant deadlines. Able to write and edit quickly but with attention to detail

* Strong marketing and business management skills, with dedication to customer satisfaction and creating good user experiences

* Solid knowledge of and ability to use analytics to optimise attraction, retention, and revenue goals

* Experienced in using WordPress, online content management systems, email delivery systems and social media channels

* Knowledge of basic HTML, image manipulation (resizing, cropping, adjusting, optimizing) and PDF creation

* Experienced with SEO and inbound link strategies

* Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and highly fluid work environment
