Geoscientist in Test / Graduate Software Tester

Geoscientist In Test / Graduate Software Tester required to join well established and expanding geophysical software house. This role would suit a recent graduate with a 2:1 in Geophysics, Astrophysics, Earth Science, or Computer Science. You must have excellent communication skills and ideally some coding or software development experience in C++, Java, Python or similar.

Responsibilities for the role include

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       Test Script Execution, maintenance, development

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       Defect Tracking, recording defects in JIRA

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       Test Automation and coding

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       Agile Scrum process, working with developers and test colleagues in 2 week sprints

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       Reporting and Communication - you will be dealing with clients and colleagues in the geophysical / seismic teams as well as software development

This Geoscientist In Test, / Graduate Software Tester / Analyst position can offer full product training. This role brings the opportunity to work across the software development lifecycle and within an agile development environment.

Experience / Education - candidates should have as much of the following experience -

- Geology / Geophysics / Physics Degree

- Strong math and analysis skills

- Software Testing Experience, or a willingness to learn

- Knowledge of industry packages such as Petrel, Kingdom or RokDoc

- Windows & Linux OS experience

- Communication skills, and ability to build relationships with colleagues and clients.
