BI Developer / Data Modeller / BI / Business Intelligence / Contract / City of London / 6 months

My client, a globally success for insurance company are currently recruiting for an experienced BI Developer / Data Modeller for a 6 month contract based in the City of London.

Job Purpose:

This role is to work within the Business Intelligence team to support the development of new reporting requirements. This includes working with the BI solutions architect to design and develop solutions. The role will involve some data modelling to enhance the warehouse and/or datamart design. The role may also involve working on BAU defect resolution or enhancements to the BI systems to provide more bandwidth within the BI team.

General Activities & Key Tasks:

*SQL Server Development work using T-SQL and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)

*Working with the BI Architect and BA's to enhance the warehouse and / or datamart schema, including data modelling

*Reporting services development work using SSRS and Node.js wrapper

*Analysis Services development work using MDX and TABULAR models

*Requirements analysis and the translation of these requirements into business solutions

*Working with business analysts or business representatives to ensure that the solution is correct, reconciled and signed-off.

*Provide assistance with the resolution of user problems and queries

*Data analysis, reconciliation and manipulation as required.

*Report design and development

Job Requirements

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

*Experience of using SQL Server for data manipulation and reporting

*Proven experience in:

oSSRS, SQL Server Reporting Services

oSSAS, SQL Server Analysis Services

*Data modelling and dimensional modelling experience

*Full project lifecycle experience from initial design and data modelling through development, testing and into production support.

*Excellent analysis skills with the ability to convert business requirements into practical solutions.

*Experience working in the Insurance industry

Desirable Skills & Qualifications:

*Power BI experience

*DAX experience

*Experience of anchor modelling
