A new opportunity has come available for a Systems Administrator with our Oxfordshire based client based in the Cotswolds. This new Systems Administrator role will see the successful candidate joining a friendly team of IT Engineers in a convivial and rewarding working environment. The Systems Administrator will play a vital role in linking support operations of the 1st line helpdesk team, the application development team and also the 3rd line engineers.

This new Systems Administrator vacancy has come about due to the continued success of the business and the need to provide an exception technical environment in order for the company to function and flourish. The Systems Administrator / 2nd Line Support Analyst position is ideal for anyone with a good background in Windows based IT support whether it be desktop or helpdesk based.

The Systems Administrator will ideally have experience with the following technologies:

           1st and 2nd line helpdesk/user support experience

           Knowledge of Microsoft based operating systems with experience of Thin and Fat Clients

           Experience using, and troubleshooting, Microsoft Office with emphasis on Word, Excel and Outlook

           Knowledge of Cisco Routing, Switching and Telephony systems.

           Knowledge of the Windows Server environment including Active Directory and Exchange.

           Ability to work in a dynamic environment, prioritising and multi-tasking effectively.

As the Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for:

           Helpdesk support as well as providing 2nd line technical support to internal customers, assisting them with hardware and application problems by phone, email, and face to face.

           To ensure that support calls are logged on the helpdesk system and resolved within SLA.

           To provide assistance and support to the 1st line IT Support Analyst. When appropriate guide,

           To process all IT procedures relating to staff joining, leaving, or moving within the Association eg password, creation of email account, security access.

           To support the IT Support Analyst in setting up and installing desktops, laptops, tablets, mobile devices, printers, and other hardware as required for new employees or equipment upgrades.

           To make sure that the backups made are sufficient for disaster recovery and where possible, ensure that any third parties are checking the integrity of the backups.

           To ensure that the Applications team have the infrastructure in place that they require for their development work.

           To take responsibility for managing all desktop and server updates

           To manage disaster recovery tests with third party suppliers in line with the Business Continuity Plan, ensuring that all issues are resolved in a timely manner.

           To be proactive at researching and advising the business of new technologies
