An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Officer to join a major FTSE 250 company within their Aviation sector.

The role will act as the commercial support to the Commercial Managers in the day to day management of commercial aspects of the business and to protect the company's commercial interests.

Candidate duties will include (but are not limited to):

* In-life management of commercial and contractual relationships with customers, partners, and suppliers (with the assistance of Supply Chain / Procurement)

* Administration of Contract management tools and procedures (including Compliance, Documentation and Contractual Change Management and Contract Awareness), to ensure that commercial control is maintained throughout the relevant projects' lifecycle

* Provide recommendations for commercial and contractual direction, evaluation of change requests and associated contract amendments ensuring that the contract baseline is always up to date, administration of the Risks and Opportunities Process and relevant registers under the guidance of an experienced Commercial Manager.

* Assisting with the generation of bid input

* General support to experienced Commercial Managers in their duties, including being the focal point for adjacent functions, and the wider business where necessary

* Positively administer compliance with our internal policies and procedures, as regards commercial practice in respect of all tasks assigned.

Technical Experience and Qualifications

* Commercial and business awareness together with understanding of contract management including diligent document control, reporting, drafting

* Demonstrable ability to successfully support and conduct negotiations with both internal and external stakeholders

* HNC/HND/Degree in Business Studies, Law or related subject

* Ability to learn quickly on the job

* Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage own workload

* Ability to self-start and motivate

* Good written and verbal communications skills

* Commercial acumen with the drive to succeed to achieve outstanding results

* Skilled computer user (standard office packages)

* Basic understanding of contract law, as well as an understanding of service/outsourcing contracts - desirable
