SQL Server DBA

A wonderful SQL Server DBA opportunity within a growing Investment Bank has been created to work on their expansion of their SQL Server Database technology platform, with you having ownership of over 300 - 400 hundred SQL Server Databases and over 40 Servers. On a daily basis as a SQL Server DBA within the group you will have the challenge of working on a number of exciting projects (one of them being involved as a DBA in the build out of a completely new Data Warehouse) as well as getting your hands dirty carrying out hard-core SQL Server Database Administration being responsible for the following:

SQL Server Database Installation and back-up and recoveries.

SQL Server Database migrations and upgrades.

Work on both new and older versions of SQL Server including some 2005 Databases and many others of newer databases including SQL Server 2008R2/2012 and some SQL Server 2014 using an array of features including SQL Server AlwaysOn.

Carrying out SQL Server Database Replication in a high availability and highly replicated environment. Getting involved in the technology strategy working with senior stakeholders across technology.

All you need to be considered for this position are the following skills: Experience as a SQL Server DBA working within financial services. Experience carrying out Database replication, installations, migrations and upgrades. Experience with SQL Server Always-On or at least a good understanding of what it is.
