Java Developer / J2EE Developer/ Contractor / CMS - Manchester - Up to £450-£500/day - 3 months - January

Role: Java Developer / J2EE Developer/ Contractor / CMS Rate: £450-£500/day Positions: 1 Contract length: 3 months initial (More than likely will extend) Location: Manchester When they want people to start: Immediately

My client, a leading Consultancy are actively seeking a Java Developer for a huge Digital transformation program with a specific focus on a content management System (CMS) Migration

Based in Manchester, they need a Java Developer / J2EE Developer/ Contractor / CMS developer that has a good combination of Java / J2EE experience. The right Java / J2EE Developer would be working on both their new Greenfield project work.

Technologies wise they are predominantly looking for the following from the Java / J2EE developer:

What skills/experience should you have?

* Experience in CMS, specifically AEM or Hippo would be useful for this role

* Experience working in cross-functional teams using Scrum and/or Kanban

* Experience in participating in workshops to identify and define user requirements

* Experience in writing acceptance tests and understanding Behaviour Driven Development principles

* Experience of developing highly interactive websites and familiarity with the challenges involved

* Experience of team development in integrated environments using managed source control systems such as Git

* Possess a good understanding of different software architectures

* Proven experience working in projects where Test Driven Development, pair programming and refactoring principles were applied

* General awareness of SEO coding concepts; especially URL structure

* Knowledge of Software/ Enterprise Design Patterns

* Experience with development infrastructure and tools (revision control, bug tracking, wiki)

* Experience of developing highly interactive websites and familiarity with the challenges involved

Desirable experience:

* Relational databases and SQL (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL)

* NoSql databases (Mongo, CouchDB, Riak, Neo4J)

* Web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript/AJAX) and web infrastructure (Apache HTTP/web server, servlet containers, caching, proxies, security, CDNs

* Java web frameworks (E.g. Wicket, Play, Spring MVC)

* Spring Framework

* Experience in XML technologies (XML Schema, SAX, DOM)

* Experience in creation of web services (SOAP, REST)

* Exposure to other JVM based languages such as Groovy or Scala

* Exposure to other scripting languages such as Ruby or Python

They are looking for someone to start on Mid-January on an initial 3 month contract, but are happy to look at interviewing people before then aiming for a February start.

For the right Java / J2EE Developer, they are happy to pay Up to £450-£500/day, though would prefer people at a range of budgets and figures. Though it is just initially for 3 months work, this is almost certainly going to extend on much further.
