Software Implementation Project Manager (Professional Services) - Permanent or Contract - London - £Competitive Salary/Daily rate

My client is a company that develops software that enables organisations of all sizes to leverage data from their ERP, EAM and other financial systems, to create a single, highly detailed platform of required financial information that is visible to all departments.

They are looking for a Project Manager within the Professional Services organization that is responsible for planning and managing enterprise software implementation projects for clients with less complexity, ensuring that these projects adhere to the company's implementation methodology, requirements, budget, and the Statement of Work (SOW).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Management:

* Standard project management activities in line with the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) such as scope, time, cost, quality, issue, risk, contract and subcontract management, and project status tracking and reporting (including Estimate-To-Complete analysis)

* Review, periodically monitor and update project plan and schedule

* Ensure that consulting staff achieve customer satisfaction through successful delivery of business value on-time and within budget

* Partner with Product Management, Development, Customer Care, and peers and colleagues in the PS organization to manage client expectations and provide seamless service from post-Sales, through implementation and into support

* May work with Partners, as appropriate, to ensure the successful delivery of projects

Methodology/Metrics:

* Apply and utilize the campany's implementation methodology, PowerME. Refine and further develop the PowerME methodology, including tools, templates, examples, accelerators and programs around implementations, upgrades and other services.

* Monitor metrics to assess the success of the project, team and individuals

Financial Management:

* Maximize the team's utilization, particularly billable realization.

* Responsible for maximizing revenue and margin for each project by properly positioning PS value

* Work with Finance to ensure timely and accurate invoicing of customers

* Track, manage and approve/reject expenses for the team

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Required:

* Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent

combination of education and relevant experience

* Ability to work with little or moderate supervision with some latitude for independent judgment; collaborate with Project Manager Director and/or Engagement Director as needed

* Five to seven (5-7) years experience as a Project Manager implementing enterprise software applications for external clients

* Demonstrated ability to manage a portfolio of 3-6 projects for external clients

* Proven experience in handling $500,000 to $2+ million projects

* Exceptional team leadership and people management experience

* Experience running and delivering enterprise level software applications/solutions, including ERP, EAM, etc. (e.g., SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft).

* Excellent, effective communication skills, including:

* verbal, written, listening and presentation skills

* ability to engage and successfully interact with the client and project team at all levels

* Superior negotiation, conflict management, risk mitigation, issue resolution, organizational and time management skills

* Consulting and client/project team relationship-building skills

* Process orientation, and ability to analyze and design/build complex processes

* Ability to assist others in analyzing, designing/building complex processes

* Ability to establish oneself as a trusted advisor in the eyes of the client, project team and leadership

* Ability to establish, refine, and champion a robust implementation methodology

* Skilled in MS Office Suite, Visio and proficient with MS Project

* Willing to travel, on average, up to 50%, although some projects may require more travel

Preferred:

* Prior experience in a computer software company or consulting firm with exposure to industries including utilities, oil and gas, mining, railroad, or telecommunications

* Experience with implementing key enterprise applications, including ERP, EAM, CRM and Maximo

* Specifically regarding ERP implementations, working knowledge of financial accounting processes (General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Project Accounting, Close, Budget)

* Understanding of system and network architecture, system platforms, system access, databas design, SQL queries, and network protocols

* Experience with some of the advanced functions of Excel, including functions, macros, and pivot tables

* Hands-on experience working on or with capital projects, capital budgets and fixed asset accounting,

or business tax software

* PMP and/or CISSP certification
