SC Cleared Unix Engineer to be based in Derby on an initial 3 Month contract. Experienced in providing technical expertise in Unix/Linux based enterprise solutions.

Job Title - SC Cleared Unix Engineer

Location - Derby

Rate - £ Market Rates

Duration - 3 Months initial

Responsibilities

* Manage in-depth server audits and assessments to proactively identify risks in customers infrastructure, maintain and improve availability, performance and security

* Drive resolution and root cause analysis of the most business critical and complex incidents and involvement in multiplatform technical emergency response team

* Provide technical expertise in UNIX/Linux based enterprise solutions to internal and external parties

Essential Skills

* SC security clearance

* Minimum 3 years of experience with configuration and administration of enterprise Linux distributions

* Experience with AIX or Solaris

* Experience with high-availability / cluster solutions like: IBM PowerHA (HACMP), Oracle Solaris Cluster, Veritas Cluster

* Ability to communicate with end customers

* Must be flexible in their working hours/location

* Previous experience of working with Protectively marked material.

* Full current driving licence

Desirable

* Virtualization concepts and technologies (XEN, KVM, Oracle VM, Solaris zones, LPAR/VPAR, HP-UX IVM, etc.)
