Job Title: Java Middleware Developer

Location: Hammersmith, West London

Salary: £40,000 to £50,000 per annum

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

About the role:

With a rapidly growing customer base and an increasing demand for enhanced functionality, the company is looking to recruit an experienced Java Middleware developer to join their team.

The successful applicant will work within a team that is responsible for extending, maintaining and developing the company's existing mission critical middleware layer along with the creation of new complementary frameworks from the ground up.

This includes involvement in areas such as design/development of code, gathering and documenting requirements, testing, configuration control & release/build processes etc.

They are looking for a highly professional, with the ability to deliver high quality work on tight schedules, you will be self-motivated, independent, proactive and able to work effectively in a group. You will have experience of working with recognised development processes with experience of all stages of the Software Development Lifecycle.

Essential:

* Knowledge of SCALA/JAVA and functional programming

* Knowledge GNU/Linux and experience with BASH scripts

* The applicant must have at least two year's commercial development experience

* The applicant must have a demonstrable track record in the development of middleware

* Agile development methodology

* Good verbal and written English skills

* Hands-on software development responsibility throughout all phases of product lifecycle

* Eligibility to live and work in the UK

* BEng/BSc or equivalent qualification in a technical discipline

Desirable:

* Version control system GIT experience

* Experience with scalable systems (distributed computing, Message Oriented Middleware)

* Experience with JVM platform

* Knowledge RabbitMQ, AKKA ACTORS

* Jira
