Mission Statement:
Lead the execution of strategic projects in Group/Division/Business Unit functions at local/multi-national/Region level, using either company and/or 3rd party resources, and ensure that all related activities are executed in accordance with company procedures, project objectives, applicable quality standards, safety requirements, cost and scheduling targets.
Main Accountabilities:
1 Planning and scheduling
Defines, with key stakeholders, the scope of work, cost/budget, resources required, time schedule, and detailed work allocation.
Define, jointly with Business Project Manager, all project documents, including scope and financial plans, schedule and risk management plans.
1 Project execution and control
Effectively organizes, monitors and controls activities to ensure achievement of planned stage-gates and efficient utilization of available resources. Monitors and controls project cost and financials. Identifies, contains and reduces risk, and ensures that all opportunities are captured and acted upon. Formalizes acceptance of the project and brings all the project elements to a conclusion.
Plan, schedule, coordinate, and deliver the IS project outcomes to time, scope, cost and agreed quality.
Effectively monitor and control project progress, proactive manage and mitigate project risks.
Monitor and control project financials, oversee project invoicing status, cost, expenses and cash flow.
Ensure that the project applies contract and claims management in accordance with contractual agreements.
Ensures the successful close down of the project on project completion and the capture and documentation of lessons learned.
Monitor and control the project management processes.
Execute IS project communication, report IS project performance against plan and expected business outcome.
Ensure successful delivery of the IS project and closely collaborate with Business PM on overall project success
Travel to manage stakeholders directly.
Conduct IS Project assessments and gate passing assessments in the domain of expertise.
1 Project governance
Ensures projects follow sound methodology and execution practices in accordance with standard ABB internal directives and procedures.
Ensure appropriate ABB IS Project Management standards and methods are followed.
Executes, for assigned tasks, all actions in IS processes according to agreed RACIS specification.
1 Stakeholder relations
Serves as the key contact for the project stakeholders, and an escalation point for project issues. Effectively communicates appropriate information to stakeholders in a timely manner and to achieve desired understanding and support.
Manage stakeholders expectations and relationship.
1 Project leadership
Leads the project team allocated to the project, defining main guidelines, allocating project tasks, and motivating and monitoring internal and/or external resources to accomplish all tasks and milestones. Coaches, develops and provides feedback regarding those individuals allocated to work on project.
Collaborate with IS Workforce Manager, IS Service Manager
Manage and lead the project team allocated to the project; coach, develop and provide feedback regarding individuals allocated to IS project.
1 Strategic alignment
Keeps up to date and informed about any change in strategy, and is consulted regarding any incident or other project which has, or might have, a major impact on the project.
