Job Title: Instrument Repair Engineer
Salary: Circa £40,000
Have you ever wondered what it takes to support the nuclear industry?
My Client is a FTSE-100 Defence & Engineering company and is currently recruiting within their nuclear division based in Barkley, Gloucestershire and are interested in hearing from candidates with Electrical or Electronic repair & service experience.
You will be responsible for providing maintenance and service for a range of instruments and components while working with the calibration teams to deliver a quick and effective service. While this position is within the nuclear sectors applications from all sectors are welcome as training can be provided.
Role Responsibilities
Key Result Areas:
* Manage repair capability, ensuring compliance with all management system requirements
* Maintain and repair instrumentation, air samplers, monitors and ancillary equipment within required timescales.
* Record use of all spares and consumables to ensure all items are accounted for
* Prepare accurate quotations for repair work as necessary to facilitate decision making.
* Maintain repair facilities in suitable state to enable efficient and safe operations.
* Provide electrical/electronic repair and maintenance support to group operations to facilitate safe and efficient working.
* Undertake other tasks as required to contribute to the safe and efficient operation of the Metrology, Dosimetry & Field Services team.
Success Factors
* Repair capability managed effectively & excellent customer satisfaction maintained.
* Repaired instrumentation provided to calibration team to enable calibration within required timescales.
* All records are clear, complete, accurate and meet internal Quality policy and audit requirements.
* All spares accounted for and continued availability of all common parts, spares and stock maintained.
* All quotations accurately prepared.
* Safe working environment maintained; no significant issues raised on safety tours.
* Electrical expertise provided as appropriate in the maintenance of the facilities and associated equipment.
* Initiatives identified to reduce cost, improve efficiency and/or increase technical or commercial leverage; demonstrable customer focus.
* All personal objectives and targets are demonstrably achieved; assistance given to other group/corporate requirements where required/appropriate.
Role Qualifications & Requirements
* Ability to trouble shoot
* Degree, HNC (or equivalent) in an electrical, electronic or engineering discipline.
* Sound understanding of electronics and electrical safety regulations; recognised as Authorised Person.
Radiometric instrument repair experience advantageous but not essential as all training will be provided on the job.
