My Client based in London requires an Enterprise Architect (GM commerce)

Duties & Responsibilities

We are excited to be recruiting for an Enterprise Architect (Commerce) here at our Head Office, London, Victoria. Working in the Group IT Architecture Team will be challenging, fascinating and rewarding. Group IT supports approximately 90,000 employees, 360 stores, a turnover of over £11bn, and a transformational IT expenditure in excess of £100m pa. The IT Strategy & Architecture Team is responsible for directing the technology change and helps inform the thinking of senior stakeholders to meet key business and technology challenges.

The successful candidate will understand the opportunities and challenges in creating a compelling digital channel, that we can deliver an online customer experience that enhances our in-store proposition. Working closely with our e-Commerce delivery team, you will be responsible for creating value for our wider Commerce IT Architecture, as well as providing technical leadership and direction with regard to the Software Architecture of the channel itself.

Creating a Commerce capability for my client that can operate effectively in our digital and retail stores is complex and challenging. Few roles offer the opportunity to operate in the retail IT arena on this scale.

Job Requirements

As the Enterprise Architect for Commerce (General Merchandise), your role will be to lead your team to shape the IT architecture for our digital channel ensuring that it supports the wider Commerce ambitions. You will need to ensure that there is robust integration with dependent systems and services such as: Content Management, Product Information, Customer Information, Order Management, Digital Marketing and Payment/POS. We are looking to build a modern, market leading web platform, across multiple client form-factors and technologies, so that we can successfully realise our business strategy.

Required essential experience skills and qualifications

- To be considered for this role, you must have the following experience/skills:

- Experience working in an Agile delivery environment

- Demonstrable experience of senior Stakeholder Management

- Experience of building, developing and leading Teams, and working with a mix of employees and third parties

- Advanced Presentation and Communication skills

- Experience of working with SaaS/Cloud software alongside 'Commercial of the Shelf Packages' and a mix of in house developed assets

- Degree level or equivalent experience

- Knowledge of relevant industry architecture frameworks and standards (e.g.TOGAF)

- Knowledge of the retail businesses in food and department stores

- Knowledge of financial modelling as it pertains to IT investment

- Knowledge of IT governance and operation

- Significant, proven and successful domain expertise and experience"
