A leading manufacturer of components into the aerospace industry is currently seeking a Technical Director to play an integral role in the development of their growth strategy moving forward. Scope of work

Operating as Technical Director for one of the UK's leading manufacturers of Aerospace components, you will be responsible for a technical team of four direct reports and 30 people indirectly. Forming part of the business leadership team, you will play an integral role in working with the other members of the management to develop and implement growth strategies. It is critical that you are innovative and able to maintain a presence in the market to seek new technologies.

It is important that you are able to communicate with customers effectively, liaising with them with regards to new technologies and understanding how such technologies could help to achieve their strategic aims. In addition to this, it is also critical that you are able to co-operate with technical people throughout the organisation on projects, defining tasks and working with engineering and project managers.

From an engineering perspective, you will be tasked with playing an important role in improving scrap/re-work rates on-site, putting defined procedures in place and reviewing how the company is able to improve. Ultimately, the organisation is looking for a Technical Director who is able to increase the product offering, improve process efficiency and embrace new technologies.

You will:

* Have an understanding of metals and engineering/manufacturing

* A technical, engineering background and/or qualification

* Ideally have experience in a similar role within the Aerospace industry, though other high-tech industries such as Automotive would be considered

* Be a professional who is able to demonstrate their expertise and gain credibility with internal stakeholders and customers

* Have good communication skills

A leading manufacturer of components into the Aerospace industry, this organisation has been established for over 40 years and currently operate from three facilities. Turning over £18m as a group, they count prestigious industry names such as Embraer, Bombardier, Rolls-Royce & Airbus amongst their customer base. They have ambitious plans to double their size and substantially grow their market share moving forward.

Why apply?

The company is paying a basic salary of between £70,000-£80,000 plus a highly competitive bonus, car allowance and excellent pension programme. They also offer 25 days holiday plus eight stats with family health care.
