My market leading client is looking for an Application Support Analyst to join their IT team at their Birmingham Head Office. The Application Support Analyst will support all business applications through the application lifecycles, including application design, maintenance, improvements and user support.

The Application Support Analyst will also provide second line service desk support where required, providing specialist knowledge to in-house applications and 3rd party application services.

Key responsibilities:

*Provide application design, configuration and maintenance on all business systems by becoming an expert on the use of all aspects of these systems.

*Provide on-going support of the application infrastructure, demonstrating a high level of technical skill sets.

*Work with the business to understand issues and requirements, undertake root cause analysis of issues and deliver technical changes.

*Manage and deliver technical change controlling quality, time and cost and writing / maintaining support documentation.

*Contribute expertise to project teams including active participation in developing the support model for new applications.

*Assist in defining user test scripts and acceptance criteria on projects within the business areas supported.

*Resolve assigned support calls efficiently and effectively using ITIL aligned processes, with the maximum amount of customer care.

*Proactively identify and propose application system changes, better uses, enhancements and developments where this will drive efficiencies for IT and/or improvements for business users.

*Assist in business system projects, help investigate and model business functions, processes and information flows.

*Write documentation for the operation of the system by end users and documentation for the support/maintenance of the system.

Key skills and experience required:

*Demonstrable experience in applications support or development, including fault finding and resolution.

*Supporting multiple applications and systems

*Knowledge of SQL databases

*Understanding of Business Processes in a manufacturing environment

*Analytical, Troubleshooting and Problem Solving skills

*Degree level education in related field desirable and/or alternatively suitably experienced

*Good grades at GCSE level Maths and English

*Valid driving licence and passport as occasional UK and International travel may be required
