Telecoms Engineer - Permanent - Leicester - £60,000

I am looking for a highly exceptional Telecoms/VoIP Engineer who is looking to join a rapidly growing business with a 10 strong infrastructure team. As they head towards their goal of becoming a class leader in the integrated communications space.

Responsibilities:

*Administration, expansion and future direction of the internal telecommunications platform

*Configuration of SIP Routers to control the flow of calls through the VoIP platform

*Management and scaling of media gateways which provide transcoding

*Administration of the internal VoIP billing platform, including tariff management

*Acting as the final point of escalation for VoIP issues faced by their customers

*Building innovative telephony systems such as IVR and CTI

*Diagnosing and providing resolutions for telephony faults that occur on the internal platform

*Management and scaling of the call recording solutions

*Manage and maintain the relationships with wholesale VoIP carriers, including raising faults

*Continually progressing the VoIP infrastructure to the benefit of the product and our customers

The ideal candidate should have a background in SIP based VoIP and have experience with Open Source VoIP technologies such as Kamailio, Freeswitch and Asterisk.

Experience required:

*Excellent understanding of VoIP technologies including SIP, RTP and RTCP

*Some experience with open source VoIP technologies such as Kamailio, Freeswitch and Asterisk

*The ability to diagnose VoIP problems such as call quality and signalling faults using VoIP monitoring tools and packet captures

*A basic understanding of IP switching and routing

*A working knowledge of Linux server systems

*A good understanding of VoIP codecs - especially Opus
