Job Title: Senior Application Support Engineer

Daily Rate: £350 - £400

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Length: 6 Months

Location: Chester, Cheshire

The Role

We are currently looking for and experienced Application Support Engineer for an exciting 6 month contract based in the Chester area. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in the following areas:

Essential Experience

*Oracle and SQL Server databases

*PL/SQL and java code

*Unix / Linux operating systems and shell scripting

*Scheduling: Autosys / Tivoli

*Websphere services

Desirable Experience

*SAS technologies

*MQ

*Connect Direct / File transfers

*Windows servers

The ideal candidate will come from a financial services background supporting card servicing and digital platforms however all candidates will be considered.

Job Overview

We are looking for a talented and experienced Senior Application Support Engineer to work in our Technology Division to support the client business. The primary focus of our Senior Application Support Engineers is to provide technical support for live production applications which operate 24x7. These applications include our online banking website, our mobile application, our web services integration layer and our contact centre applications.

Day to Day responsibilities

*Provide support and lead the technical triage for problems with applications within the live production environment, contributing to stability and availability, and maintaining a high degree of customer service.

*Incident, Problem and Change Management duties, including ownership and progression of internal and external faults and technical issues. Own and manage failures within systems through to resolution of the issue, whilst controlling and minimising impact to business areas.

The successful applicant will be covering supporting the following technical areas:

* Oracle and SQL Server databases

* PL/SQL and java code

* Unix / Linux operating systems and shell scripting

* Scheduling: Autosys / Tivoli

* Websphere services

* SAS technologies

* MQ

* Connect Direct / File transfers
