* Experience of implementing and managing standards to ensure code stability and consistency including peer reviews and coding standards development.

* Extensive commercial experience of Drupal development in a professional environment, and in particular responsive/mobile websites

* Experience defining and integrating API solutions

* Experience in transactional Ecommerce applications

* Experience in working in an Agile environment

* Experience in software architectural design

Desirable

* Programming language:, Magento, PHP, ReactJS, NodeJS

* TDD, Selenium etc

* Solr

* Knowledge of travel related applications/IT architecture

* Computer science/engineering related degree

Main responsibilities

* Strong ownership of the platform, ensure business stakeholders have the constant reminder of how the small building blocks of new features add to the overall product. Guide stakeholders through key decisions on that will bring the best benefit and the sequence in which the benefits can be realised in the most efficient way. Ensure solutions have balance between minimum viable product, strategic alignment and future proof.ing

* Development coding standards and quality: autonomy to define standards and put in place practices to ensure team adheres to agreed standards. Work closely with the Platform team to ensure maximum re-use, strategic alignment and overall code quality and coverage for the platform.

* Technical leadership and ownership: assist the digital development manager in coaching technical performance of the team, setting technical objectives for team members, highlighting training requirements when necessary and ensuring the right level of technical coverage within the team.

* Performance metrics and development tools: key involvement in defining tools, metrics and processes used.

* Technical solution design and planning: working closely with the technical architect and marine developers to ensure effective designs are in place for development solutions. Incorporating API integration with autonomy on low level design and technical approach. Responsible for the high level estimation of discovery and delivery work.

* Build strong relationships and collaborate with key stakeholders and teams.

* Ownership and risk management of technical roadmap incorporating any technical debt.

* Ensure security is at the forefront of technical solutions and liaise the security team for all IT change.

* Automated testing: Work closely with Test Manager to assist with the definition and implementation of the automated test strategy to include unit testing.

* WebOps/DevOps: maintain the relationship with the WebOps team and be a key contributor in defining vision, how to implement, what tools to use and best practices.

* Working closely with the digital development manager to deliver and provide input to the IT strategy. Key driver on strategy of platform and how it can also be used across other parts of the organisation.

* Technical recruitment: assist digital development manager in technical aspects of recruitment process - CV review, technical interviews/tests, team suitability etc.

* Work within a fast-paced, friendly, flexible and Agile focussed delivery team

* Actively participate and contribute to delivery team workshops, hackathons and innovative solutions
