Main Purpose of the Job:

To analyse, design, build, implement & support web browser based solutions using Microsoft technologies (SharePoint, .Net, SQL Server) for Digital Services clients according to agreed system requirements specifications, gathered through collaborative requirements workshops and prototyping sessions with key stakeholders and users.

To contribute to the development of the NAO’s web based applications strategy and evaluate new web technologies and products.

To mentor/coach junior members of staff

Responsibility for business-critical enterprise wide applications

Key skills/competencies required:

Strong experience in developing web based applications, utilising the following: HTML5, C#, ASP.Net, VB.Net, REST, Web services, XML, jQuery, JavaScript, CSS, LINQ and XSLT

Significant SharePoint 2013 experience in the following areas:

- SharePoint site and list architecture design and definition

- Features, Web parts, event receivers

- Client object model/REST API

- Page Layouts and display templates

- PowerShell command line admin

- Search

Some experience with Office 365 including:

- SharePoint admin centre and search administration

- Familiarity with Delve and OneDrive

Ability to support web based applications, including problem diagnosis and resolution at client, middle tier and server side.

Strong communication and inter-personal skills in dealing with a range of customers, including senior managers & end-users. Ability to recognise and respond to business issues and priorities

You must be a UK, Commonwealth, EEA or Swiss national to comply with Civil Service nationality rules and must hold a valid work permit. We are not able to sponsor work visas.
