IT Service Desk Analyst

Poole, Dorset

£25,407 - £29,891 Plus Benefits

Our client is the charity that saves lives at sea through lifeboats, lifeguards, and prevention. Their work is driven by their values to be selfless, dependable, trustworthy and courageous.

They are looking for an experienced IT Service Desk Analyst, with an equal balance of customer service and technical skills, to join their IT Service Desk. This is a small team, so you will need to be proactive with an analytical mind, willing to help and learn, and able to think on your feet. You must be comfortable working in a service based environment, adhering to SLAs and Lean/ITIL principles.

The service desk receives around 80-90 calls a day, requiring assistance with a very varied range of queries and problems, so you must feel confident dealing effectively with customers in a friendly, personable and timely manner.

The team troubleshoots software, hardware, network and website issues, including Windows 7, Office 2010, Microsoft Dynamics AX, SCCM, MACs, printers, tablets and mobile phones.

To be considered, you will need:

- Knowledge and experience in incident management and ITIL processes

- Strong technical knowledge of current mainstream desktop software, hardware and network technology

- At a minimum, A Levels (or equivalent)

Focused and diligent, as an IT Service Desk Analyst, you’ll have excellent communication skills and a solution-oriented approach. Great time-management and prioritisation abilities are also key.

Hours will be managed on a rota basis between 7:45am and 6pm. There is no overtime required for this role.

Please note, the closing date for applications is the 21st November 2017.

Our client’s staff and volunteers have been saving lives at sea without prejudice for nearly 200 years. They respect and value diversity of background, skills and perspectives within their teams, and consider it essential to help deliver a world-class lifesaving service. They are an inclusive organisation and welcome applications from everyone. In addition to having the skills needed for the role, our client also looks for applicants who share their commitment to living their values (trustworthy, courageous, selfless, and dependable), and helping them work towards their goals of halving drowning in the UK and Ireland by 2024. This involves a growing commitment to preventative action, using expertise to work in partnership with communities locally, nationally and internationally to prevent drowning.
