Desktop Application Developer, C#, Manchester, £300/£350 per day, 6 months

My client a world leader in the sporting industry are currently on the lookout to expand their team of contract developers at their new site in Manchester. They are looking for multiple C# application developers to work on a number of different projects and teams. The technologies is spread across Winforms, WPF and MVVM.

The ideal candidate would be a big sports fan who is passionate about the industry.

The project will be entirely desktop based and experience with desktop technologies such as C#, WPF, Winforms MVVM, will be more advantageous than web technologies but they would not rule out anybody from a web background. The projects will change depending on the team they are in but will involve maintaining and updating existing code into newer C#.

It will also involve re-writing a large portion of their back office trading systems, this is a highly complex system with a size comparable to large banks and finance industry, any experience working on a similar scale would be advantageous. The backend is all in SQL.

Technology wise, the following would be considered advantageous:

* Past experience working on large scale systems that experience high volumes of data.

* Exposure to other desktop development tools, including Silverlight and Winforms.

* A big sports fan who wants to work closer to the industry.

This contract is for at least six months and due to the large scale nature of the projects, there is definite room for extension for any developer who adds value to the project, either on the same team or a different one working on the same technology but a different project.

They are looking to pay between £300 and £350 per day, although this is very much dependent on the relevant experience they can bring to the table.

The projects are due to come live in the next 4-6 weeks. However, due to the nature of the projects and sheer number of developers they are looking to bring on, they want to see CVs ASAP to build a shortlist, with the intention of interviewing them in the following weeks for a June start. Due to the nature of this, those who are currently in contract would still be considered.
