One of our clients, a software development house based in Cape Town CBD, specialising in end-to-end custom software solutions for the retail and financial sectors, are looking to grow their team for an exciting greenfield project. The client is looking for a Java Developer with strong professional experience of backend development to join their company as they continue to grow year on year. The company has recently won a large greenfield project with an international retail client. The first 3 months of the role will be spent training on the client site abroad before returning to work in Cape Town longer term. This client is looking for Java developers with strong experience with the Spring framework. The ideal candidate will have experience with Maven, IntelliJ and Web Services, as well as strong work experience with a wide range of application servers such as Tomcat, Weblogic, WebSphere, JBoss, Wildfly and Glassfish. The ideal candidate will be a well versed Java developer looking for a big challenge with a lot of responsibility. Previous experience working within an Agile Scrum team is advantageous. Working for this company will include working internally at the company headquarters as well as visiting client site, so ideally candidates will be professional and well spoken. Must be willing to travel extensively for the role both domestically and internationally. Skills:

Ability to demonstrate high level of experience with Java 7/8

Experience working with Spring

Web Development experience

Experience working with MySQL / SQL / MSSQL

High communication and soft skills

Desirable:

Experience working with JavaScript libraries

Experience with RESTful APIs

A university degree in Computer Science or a related subject

Job Type: Permanent / Full-time

Salary: R40000 - R50000/month
