Database Analyst

My client based in Edinburgh are seeking an experienced Database Analyst. The perfect candidate for this role will have a wealth of experience in Database Administration, Database Analysis, SQL and Oracle.

Responsibilities

* Assess and address gaps in technical knowledge of the solution, both internal and with external customers

* To proactively investigate and design technical solutions for integration of products into customer environments

* Document the technical aspects of software implementation, its database requirements for both internal and external customers

* Assist with Incident Management processes, highlighting any gaps within this documentation

* Support configuration and prove the functionality and configuration of these technologies

* Help lead the team, assist with technical knowledge within the team and with the customer base

* Work in a team using Windows, UNIX and Linux systems, as well as being the technical lead on the database

Key Skills

* Experience of maintaining and installing Microsoft SQL, Oracle, MySQL and DB2

* Linux or Unix Support

* Application implementation and support

* Proven ability to produce high quality documentation, with the ability to feed this back to those technical and non-technical

Qualifications and Experience

* The ideal candidate will be experienced in a relational database environment, using SQL and Oracle

* Candidates will have experience of web application support, or exposure to such

* There will be a high degree of server configuration, and so the candidate should be confident in installing and configuring heterogeneous networks of Windows, Linux, Unix and embedded systems.
