Network & Security Specialist

Our global, market leading and unique client, who have experienced genuine growth in recent times, is looking for an experienced Network & Security Specialist to join their team based near Manchester on a permanent basis. The Network & Security Specialist will play a critical role, as you will act as an SME in multiple network disciplines, as well as troubleshooting, providing 3^rd line support and also guiding the business to secure efficient network and security solutions.

This is an exciting role, as not only will you act as a mentor to the more junior members of the team, but also as our client have recently gone through heavy investment and completing various acquisitions. They are already largely considered market leaders and have a clear vision as to where they want the business and their valued employees to be in the future. This team prides themselves on their friendly, relaxed and flexible attitude.

Network & Security Specialist - Key Skills:

'€¢

Implementing Cisco ASA series Firewalls, ISE, Anyconnect and ACS security solutions.

'€¢

Ability to configure, support and troubleshoot a wide variety of customer VPN's.

'€¢

Solid understanding Private Key Infrastructure (PKI) / Certificate Authority / IEEE 802.1x

'€¢

Assess, design, implement, troubleshoot, and document Cisco security solutions and related systems

'€¢

Develop both high-level and detailed implementation and test plans for security technologies related to enterprise networks

'€¢

Security - Firewall and IDS / IPS

'€¢

CCNP/CCDP Certified (Routing & Switching or Security)

'€¢

Able to act as a mentor to the more junior members of the team

'€¢

Excellent communication skills, as you will be required to talk to customers and 3^rd parties - able to hold a conversation

Network & Security Specialist - Responsibilities:

'€¢

Ensure the design of perimeter security are robust, available and fit for future

'€¢

Provide Implementation services for all projects that have networking and, or Security requirements.

'€¢

Contribute to definition of the Group Network and Security Standards.

'€¢

Keep up to date with the latest Networking and Security tools that are available.

'€¢

Provide 3rd line support for the network infrastructure.

'€¢

Deliver project work (both strategic and tactical) in compliance with relevant technical architectures, ensuring solutions are successfully delivered and fit for purpose.

'€¢

Provide technical consultancy to infrastructure and development teams where necessary to assist with project delivery and/or problem resolution.

'€¢

Provide appropriate training and documentation for any newly deployed systems.

'€¢

Perform release management activities including patching, firmware updates and other related activities.

'€¢

Provide support for systems out of hours
