The successful Information Asset Analyst will be required to support the implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) by:

* Identifying all information assets within the Trust.

* Identifying and analysing data flows from and to all information assets.

* Identifying access control functionality for each information asset

* Providing administrative support to the Head of Information Governance (Data Protection Officer).

The successful Information Asset Analyst will have the below responsibilities:

* To liaise with staff, throughout the Trust geographical area, to identify all information systems / assets in operation within the Trust.

* To develop and manage a central log of all information systems / assets and identify information asset owners and administrators for each.

* To work with the Information Asset Owners (IAO) / Information Asset Administrators (IAA) to audit the function and security of the systems / assets.

* Support IAOs and IAAs with training and guidance on securing / managing information.

* To ensure that each system / asset has appropriate documented access controls in place.

* To identify how each system / asset would function in the event of a business continuity scenario.

* To identify, log and analyse the data flows both to and from each system / asset to ensure there is a legal basis for each flow.

* To identify the purpose, and assess its legitimacy, of each information system / asset in place.

* To provide update reports to the Head of Information Governance and Information Governance Group on progress towards meeting the 25 May 2018 deadline for GDPR.

* To work closely with the Information Security Officer when any security areas of concern are identified.

* Assist the Head of Information Governance in collating evidence for the Information Governance Toolkit on relevant areas of responsibility.

* Be responsible for ensuring specialist knowledge is kept up to date, attending training and gaining qualifications when appropriate.

* Act as a key member of the IM&T team and contribute to furthering the aims and objectives of the service.

* Perform any duties as may be directed by the Head of Information Governance appropriate to the post.

* Organise and plan own workload to ensure the integrity and timeliness of information requests to ensure statutory deadlines are met.
