UX Designer/ Central Government/ User Experience/ HTML/ CSS/ Rapid Prototyping/ Contract

My client, a leading Central Government organisation, are looking for a Senior UX Designer to join their expanding team in London. This is an initial 12 month contract, paying up to £600 ltd per day.

Senior UX Designer

As a Senior UX Designer you will work in close collaboration with business analyst, product manager, developer and programme colleagues, planning, scoping and delivering the research and design activities to achieve successful service delivery. You will be working within a fast paced delivery team and will look for engaging ways to communicate findings to delivery teams and stakeholders unfamiliar with user experience.

The ideal candidate will have a love of the web and its possibilities, a passion for design and its history and an understanding of how form and function work together.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

* Previous experience as Lead UX Designer in Central Government

* Practical experience in designing interfaces and transaction flows for the web

* Ability to prototype for the web & design in browser

* A good understanding of web technologies and how they affect design and accessibility

* Experience of web and mobile application interface design

* Responsive web interactions design for mobile devices

* Service design experience, including user journey mapping and rapid prototyping

DESIRABLE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

* Hand-coded HTML & CSS

* A degree in design or equivalent qualification

* Experience in researching design with users
