Infrastructure Engineer - Linux

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a junior level IT specialist to join a growing Investment Management firm in the City of London. This role provides a great opportunity for a junior candidate with 2+ years' IT / Infrastructure / Support experience to develop into a Linux focused Infrastructure Engineer.

The Company

As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will work for a global Investment Management firm in their modern offices near Liverpool Street Station in London. The company has around 100 employees in total, split across offices in London, Singapore, and Australia, and you will join a friendly team of 5, which is looking to hire 2 new Infrastructure Engineers in their London office. They are looking to hire 1 Infrastructure Engineer to focus on Windows, and a 2nd to focus on Linux.

The Job

As a Linux focused Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for the following:

* Installing workstations, servers, telephony systems

* Diagnosing and solving hardware/software faults

* System builds, upgrades and automation

* Disaster recovery, business continuity and system backups

* Linux administration

About You

This role is ideally suited to junior candidates who are looking to build their skillset and develop in their career as an Infrastructure Engineer. You can come from a variety of backgrounds - e.g. desktop/2nd Line support, but ideally you will have around 2+ years' experience with a variety of technologies (e.g. DNS, TCP/IP, DCHP, or similar). You need not be an expert in Linux to apply, however you should have a basic level of experience and the desire to train up and become an expert in Linux technology.
