Network and IT Support Engineer / Windows / Office 365 / Azure / AD / Contract / 6 Months / Central London

My client is currently for an experienced IT Support Analyst to work on a 6 month contract based in their central London office. This is a great opportunity to work with a small close-knit team to provide support across all areas of the organisations IT estate. The role will consist of a mixture of face to face and telephone support and you will be involved in project based work including the roll-out of Windows 10.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

Function and operational management areas

*Manage and perform the day to day operation and troubleshooting of IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, network, desktops and communications systems

*Perform IT system administration across the IT infrastructure

*Ensure documentation is created and updated to reflect the current infrastructure

*Proactively monitor the performance of the infrastructure, identify any performance issues or risks and take action to prevent problems

*Identify opportunities to improve the IT infrastructure and services provided to staff and make recommendations to the head of department

*Apply ITIL principles to the operation and support of the IT infrastructure

*Maintain suitable levels of security for the IT infrastructure

Relationship Management

*To liaise with suppliers and third party support companies

*Provide advice and assistance to staff with any IT issues or projects

*Work with colleagues within the IT department, and communicate effectively to keep colleagues up to date

*Share knowledge and expertise with colleagues, by direct guidance and via system documentation

Key Skills and Experience:

*Exchange and Exchange Online Administration and Troubleshooting

*Office 365 Administration and Troubleshooting

*Extensive experience in a variety of IT infrastructure areas including networking, servers, security, desktop, printers and communications

*Active Directory Administration and Troubleshooting

*Windows Server Administration and Troubleshooting

*Azure Administration and Troubleshooting

*Managing and liaising with suppliers of goods and IT services

*Managing system and infrastructure upgrade work - (Windows 10 project, Office 2016 roll-out)

Desirable:

*ITIL Training and experience

*Knowledge of basic database administration (SQL Server)

*Some understanding of web technologies and services

*Experience using and configuring Active Directory Federate Services
