General Description

The HR Manager reports directly to the Head of HR with a dotted line and close working relationship into the relevant General Manager/s and their team.

The HR Manager is responsible for providing business partnering, management and direction on all People related matters to the contract/s in their remit. The individual needs to deliver HR operational service and capability that both supports and furthers the achievement of the contract/s and drives organisational performance.

The role will support the implementation of Organisation Development initiatives as directed that add value to the contract and BU strategy to develop capability.

The individual will be capable of operating with high level of employment relations expertise with the necessary experience and gravitas to successfully and credibly represent the function with the contract/s and customer.

Main Tasks

* Provide advice on complex, high level or high risk employee relations issues, including those relating to discipline, grievance, performance and absence

* Develop effective partnering relationships with General Manager/s, their teams, key internal stakeholders and customers

* Support operations leaders and teams in the management of trade union relationships and effective consultation

* Coach managers to improve team performance and assist with the implementation of performance management processes

* Provide commercially focused HR solutions delivery utilising HR specialists as required to develop business focused solutions

* Support the Head of HR in analysing training needs, creating development plans and analysing learning and development activity

* Act as a key conduit for the 2-way flow of information between the contract and the HR function, providing

* Support and implemement HR projects and initiatives as required across relevant contract/s

* Ensure implementation of succession planning and talent management framework

* Ensure Company health, safety and environmental procedures are implemented and complied with at all times.

Technical Experience and Qualifications

Essential:

* Full driving licence

* Significant experience as an HR generalist

* Experience of working in a commercial environment

* Experience of working with diverse employment terms and conditions

* Experience of working with unions

Desirable:

* Ability to provide commercially focused HR solutions.

* Good knowledge of employment law with strong skills in TUPE.

* Ability to link business objectives to HR initiatives.

* Ability to coach and mentor the HR team.

* Ability to interpret business objectives and transform these into individual objectives

* Proven track record of implementation of change management programmes.
