My client based in Edinburgh has an immediate requirement for a 2nd Line Support Engineer. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a nationally recognised client on an initial 3 month contract, with the possibility of extensions.
Key Skills & Background
Key Activities
* Daily IT Ticket Monitoring and keeping customers up to date on the status of their issues.
* Resolve 1st & 2nd line IT support issues that have been transferred from the IT Service Desk, using knowledge gained through training, support documentation and your own personal knowledge.
* Taking ownership of projects through to completion.
* Document resolutions and work to prevent future occurrences.
Required Skills
* ITIL qualified to at least foundation level.
* Experience within a similar role.
* Ability to co-ordinate and deliver multiple tasks.
* Proven knowledge of Microsoft products (O/S, Active Directory, Office 365 etc.)
* Highly motivated to meet team goals and objectives.
Desired Skills:
* Experience in using MS Exchange
* Degree educated in a relevant subject.
* Experience supporting various end user platforms (VDI, MS, MacOS, Linux)
* Understanding of network architecture.
* Understanding of VMware
* Experience of installation, configuration and the use of mobile devices.
* Experience of Troubleshooting typical IT support issues (eg. network connectivity, printer, application installations etc.)
* IT Security Awareness.
