Release Analyst

Solihull, West Midlands

Salary: Dependent on Experience + Extensive Benefits Package

Our client is a global provider of technology systems and solutions across the entire insurance industry. They provide core technology solutions, distribution and trading capability, advanced analytics and solution delivery.

Their team is growing, so our client is on the lookout for a talented Release Analyst to join their Customer Support Services Team, based at their Solihull office.

The purpose of the Release Analyst will be -

Within a structured environment the Release Specialist is responsible for designing, building, testing, distributing an assigned release (including execution of back-out procedures if available and needed), across any application within the estate of our client’s Managed Service.

Our client would like to meet a Release Analyst with experience in the following -

- Experience as a release analyst and/or of release management in an IT service environment.

- In-depth knowledge and experience of applying ITIL v3 principles and standards.

- Advanced knowledge of the software development lifecycle.

- Demonstrated ability to co-ordinate cross-functional work teams toward task completion.

- Demonstrated effective leadership and analytical skills.

- Works collaboratively to achieve project goals.

- Good written and verbal communication skills.

The Release Analyst responsibilities include -

- Working alongside technical SMEs, and the creation of Implementation Plans.

- Working alongside Test Manager, and the creation of Test Plans required to validate releases.

- Creation of the Release Package.

- Provides regular updates to Change and Release Manager on progress of Releases.

- Updates the Release schedule in respect of individual releases.

- Play an active part in Release Readiness reviews, Milestone reviews and Business Go/No-Go reviews providing current status of all elements of the Release.

- Highlight any risks and issues, along with mitigation steps, associated with the Release to the Change and Release Manager.

- Work with the Change & Release Manager to understand the impact of individual releases across the estate.

- In the event of both unsuccessful releases, and those that are successful with issues, play an active role in the post-implementation reviews, providing input into the root cause of the issues encountered.

- Continual Service Improvement in the Release Management Process.

- Participate in CAB meetings to discuss release scope, risks, mitigating activities and any blockers.

- Maintains a release repository and manages key information such as build and release procedures, dependencies, and notification lists.
