£35,000 - £40,000 + 10% Annual Bonus
Software Test Engineer required to join my client, a world leader in their field based in Gateshead. You will be responsible for identifying defects and process issues with the software and its design. This position involves close interaction with the development and functional team members.
The successful candidate will be working as a part of the Test Team to understand requirements, design, execute and maintain test strategies, document test plans, test scripts/cases and test results. You will be responsible for the co-ordination, planning and test execution of all phases of testing including Systems Test, Integration, OAT, Non-Functional & Regression Testing among others.
Other key duties include:
* Define, write and execute automated and manual tests (Functional, Non-Functional Regression, Ad-Hoc and Compatibility) to enable defects detection and solution validation
* Review and understand business requirements, user stories and specifications / acceptance criteria and define test conditions
* Design acceptance tests under own direction, using own in-depth analysis of both functional and non-functional specifications
* Creation of test strategies & plans
* Provide in depth test results / analysis and reports
Skills required
* Experience in a Software Testing role
* Understanding of software development process and lifecycle
* Experience of different software development lifecycles (For example Agile or Waterfall)
* ISTQB Certified Tester-Beginner Level: Test Analyst Accreditation or equivalent
* Solid non-functional testing experience
* Experience writing and executing SQL queries
* SOAP UI for integration testing
* Experience of test management software such as TFS
* Relevant Knowledge of test automation experience using Cucumber, Ruby, Robot, WebDriver, Selenium
* Test automation experience of REST and SOAP based API’s and Web Services using single and multi-threading
* Strong understanding of lean and AGILE methods and the principles and practices of BDD, ATDD and TDD
Advantageous Skills
* Load & Performance Testing experience - Load Runner, Performance Centre and JMeter or similar
* ISTQB Certified Tester - Advanced Level: Test Analyst Accreditation or equivalent
* ITIL V3 Foundation
* Understanding of TMMI
* Knowledge & understanding of test automation e.g. Ranorex, Selenium
* Experience of testing solutions using BizTalk
