Role Overview

My client is seeking to recruit an experienced Senior Java Developer to join our project teams in various locations throughout the Scottish central belt. During the course of their careers, candidates may have the opportunity to work on a range of exciting projects across our various clients, sectors and sites

Key Responsibilities

Assignments will involve working as part of a multi-skilled agile team with projects varying from the delivery of bespoke solutions to developing enhancements to existing products and applications.

As part of our development team you will utilise open source technologies and methods including Behaviour Driven Development, Gherkin, Selenium, Jenkins, etc.

Desirable Skills

Depending on the level of seniority applicants would be expected to have experience of some or all of the following:

* Core Java Enterprise Edition development skills and understanding of Java design principles

* Experience developing XHTML, CSS, JavaScript and jQuery code

* Demonstrable knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture

* Extensive use of unit, mock and browser based test frameworks

* Experience of Continuous Integration and Development environments using technologies such as Jenkins, Sonar, Maven, Artifactory

* Agile Development approaches including, but not limited to, Scrum

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

* Willingness to travel and work on client site

* Very motivated to build excellent code and progress towards design
