SAP Basis Consultant - Competitive Salary - Portsmouth

Looking for an individual to come into this FTSE 100 Business as a SAP Basis Consultant on a permanent basis working out of their Portsmouth office. (SAP,ECC,OSS,IRM,BAU,ERP,SRM,CRM,FICO,PS,PY,SC,Ariba,SuccessFactors,ITIL)

When joining the business, this individual will be expected to bring experience to a newly formed SAP Basis Team. Helping that team to gain knowledge while still meeting the required support priorities. This role is pivotal within the organization. The successful candidate must be experienced and conversant with state of the art support methodologies.

Major Responsibilities/ Accountabilities:

* Checking background processes.

* Monitoring User sessions, Work processes, update records, lock entries and client copies.

* Applying pack upgrades, kernel upgrades and transports in line with the upgrade policy (policy is yet to be defined).

* Stop & start activities on the ECC system.

* Reviewing start up logs & traces and ECC profiles.

* Maintaining & reviewing SAP OSS notes and advises SAP Basis Team Lead on applicability to Babcock.

* Organising Database and Redo log backups.

* ECC performance tuning.

* Reviewing systems logs, short dumps, system traces and system logs and proposes any corrective actions required.

In Addition the Senior SAP Basis Analyst will be required:

* Developing Patching schedules, agreeing with the Business and Project delivery team's suitable maintenance windows.

* Determining the landscape requirements for BAU Support and Project deliver and delivering these as required.

* Evaluating and then implement support tools as required.

* To help improve the breadth and depth of knowledge in the Basis Team

Qualification/ Skills & Attributes:

* Strong SAP support skills, ideally developed through solid experience;

* Technically proficient in SAP ECC6, desired is a broad exposure to the modules being implemented (FICO, PS, PY, SC, SRM, Ariba, SuccessFactors);

* ITIL v3 Foundation

* Previous experience of supporting integration between SAP Core and other interfaced applications

Technical & Specialist Knowledge:

Minimum of 5 years previous experience as a SAP Basis Analyst

MS SQL & Oracle experience will be beneficial

Security Criteria to be achieved:

MOD SC Security clearance

Other security clearances as contracts demand

E.g. Met Policy Security clearance, CRB
