My client a leading Automotive Business on the Shropshire/Welsh border are looking for a Senior Software Tester. This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a business whose innovative products are used in the most demanding applications requiring performance, reliability and energy efficiency to enhance the productivity of machines and processes'.

The role

You will be working closely with the development teams, testing new embedded-software and PC-based configuration and programming tools for a range of market leading products. You will be responsible for the rest approach on a project. Planning testing, proving fitness for purpose, finding and documenting bugs and championing quality. This is a hands-on role with a technology leading company where dynamism, drive and technical ability will be rewarded. Support and formal and informal training will be provided; developing your skills and talents.

A highly effective and tightly knit software test team; part of the R&D function of a world renowned technology leader in industrial automation.

What we are looking for?

Articulated and educated, able to challenge without confrontation and support without ego. An interest in software development with some experience in testing applications-software or embedded-software. Preferably a working knowledge of industrial Automotive products - drives, controllers or PLC's. Coding or scripting experience e.g. Python, C, Codesys.

Desirable Skills and Experience

* Software Testing over the full SDLC; Ideally with devices or PC applications

* Working knowledge of industrial automation products: drives, controllers, sensors

* Design and build test environments for testing CT products

* Excellent team building and inter-personal skills

* Manage document reviews on projects

Supporting Competencies/skills

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

* Efficient and focused and capable of working unsupervised if necessary

* Able to train others in product knowledge

* Familiarly with the software development process is desirable
