This is the dream job for any senior digital or web architect who wants to make a difference and get to identify, prove and truly drive the capabilities to take our client into a cloud focused digital future.

You'll be required to architect thier digital world from the ground up using the latest and greatest in digital and cloud platforms, tools and techniques considering the full requirements, design, build and operate lifecycle.

What you'll be doing

* Defining, owning and driving a best in class, fit for purpose and cost effective digital architecture strategy that meets thier current and future digital needs.

* Developing, owning, maintaining and promoting effective Digital architecture standards for use including web and mobile technologies.

* Working with sponsors, IT teams, Digital Marketing and other stakeholders to determine evolving needs.

* Defining and validating functional and nonfunctional requirements including usability, performance, availability, capacity, security/continuity and supportability.

* Researching new technology solutions and performing cost benefit analysis to identify the most appropriate means to meet stated requirements.

* Documenting high level and low level architectural designs for digital/web based solutions, including integration with on-premise applications, cloud and SaaS solutions.

* Be part of the IT Technical Architecture Design Authority, representing IT Digital, working collaboratively with other IT architects to ensure proposed solution designs are fit for purpose, simple, stable and secure at all times.

* Ensuring our Digital landscape is designed to be effectively managed given the Technology architecture in use and the internal and external capabilities available to guarantee 99.99% availability.

* Working with IT operations and development/engineering teams to define appropriate testing activities and acceptance criteria and to ensure that all requirements have been met.

* Supporting development/engineering teams with best practice build and configuration activities.

* Participating in major or complex incident and problem management activities, acting as an SME and helping to restore service or maintain operational stability.

* Representing IT Digital in CAB and Change Management activities, including initiating, presenting, reviewing and approving changes.

* Leading continuous improvement initiatives such as optimising website performance, resilience or reliability.

* Helping drive a DevOps culture and approach, supporting increased automation and release frequency through the further improvement of CI/CD pipelines and associated processes/tools.

Tools and Technologies

We are in the middle of a digital transformation which includes moving to the cloud and re-platforming thier services to support strategic initiatives. We're seeking to move to a micro-services/API based architecture and are investing heavily in serverless platforms with market leading technologies such as AWS, Durpal, Akamai and NewRelic.
