The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) is a major government department, at the heart of the justice system. Our vision is to deliver a world-class justice system that works for everyone in society. Our four strategic priorities to deliver our vision are:

A prison and probation service that reforms offenders

A modern courts and justice system

A Global Britain that promotes the rule of law

A transformed department

The organisation works together to bring the principles of justice to life for everyone in society. From our civil courts, tribunals and family law hearings, to criminal justice, prison and probation services. From safeguarding victims and the vulnerable to regulating our legal services; we believe the principles of justice are pivotal and we are steadfast in our shared commitment to uphold them.

Every week thousands of prisoners need to be transported from prisons and other detention facilities across the country to courts and then safely and efficiently returned. Currently, many of these services are provided by private sector companies under the remit of the Prisoner Escort & Custody Services (PECS) contract. This contract, worth in excess of £1bn, will be retendered in the near future. To ensure the tax payer receives the best possible value for money and assurance of security, we are now seeking a project leader to drive this initiative forward. Working closely with a diverse set of senior stakeholders, you will scope the needs and then ensure the successful tendering. You will lead a team, build their capacity and share your knowledge, whilst ensuring successful delivery remains paramount.

We are therefore looking for an exceptional senior project manager and team leader. You will have a strong track record of strategic project delivery. You will bring a track record of operating successfully in a complex, fast-moving environment and in realistically managing client expectations. You will bring gravitas, impetus and will command confidence with very senior stakeholders. Outstanding political awareness and strong communication and influencing skills are also essential for this role.
