Network Security Engineer

Location: Oxford

Duration: 3 month initial

Rate: £450 - £500

We are currently looking for an experienced Network Security Engineer to join the world's leading professional publishers in their Oxford office.

As the Network Security Engineer, you will work with a talented team of technologists to deliver a major End User Computing (EUC) transformation programme. You will be working to execute a global strategy shifting from on-premise infrastructure to commodity cloud based service.

The Network Security Engineer will have a strong and proven background in network engineering/architecture or consultancy. You will be required to collaborate with external suppliers/vendors and provide expertise to architecture and/or management to help make decisions and set priorities.

Network Security Engineer Skills:

* Advanced knowledge

* Service Provider or Enterprise level Firewalls

* VPN and supporting technologies

* Security technologies including intrusion detection and prevention

* A solid understanding OSI model and TCP/IP, DNS, BGP Routing, Protocol Tags, Tunnels & NetFlow

* Operating knowledge of security Gateways products

* It is also desirable to have knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure. Monitoring tools such as Solarwinds, Nagios and System Centre Operations Manager (SCOM). Cyber Security and Compliance, PCI and proficiency with Linux or other flavours of UNIX.

* Extensive and demonstrable experience of Incident and Problem Management, with an understanding of other ITIL processes, applied across multi-platform technologies
