Software Development Manager / Lead Developer

A high profile, industry leading organisation, are looking for a Software Development Manager or Software Development Team Lead interested in moving into a management role.

The Software Development Manager / Lead Developer will be responsible for the day to day management of a small software development team whilst having input into the wider technical strategy and existing system / software improvements.

The organisation provide a range of software solutions for mission critical systems, requiring high availability and reliability, therefore experience of this would be significantly advantageous.

The successful Software Development Manager / Lead Developer will be required to have the following skills and experience.

* Experience of managing or leading a small C# / .Net software development team.

* Experience of mission critical 24/7 availability system development.

* Knowledge of software development practises - ideally agile.

* Experience of software change management processes.

* Experience of managing integrated sytems.

* Knowledge or experience of working on booking systems, GPS systems or tablet development projects is adavantagoues.

* Working knowledge of .Net development technologies as occasional hands on development may be required.

* Knowledge of Groovy and database technologies.

* Project Management qualifications - desirable.

* Ability to communicate with colleagues at all levels including technical and non-technical.

The responsibilities of the Software Development Manager will include:

* The day to day management and leadership of a small development team, including individual reviews.

* Management of the software development process.

* Input and involvement the technical strategy and outlining improvement projects to existing systems.

* To work as the interface with the support and infrastructure departments.

* To uphold a strong position on quality assurance and testing.
