PHP Developer

Salary up to £50,000 + Benefits

Technologies: PHP, OOP, LAMP, BASH

PHP Developer experienced with PHP, OOP, LAMP and BASH required to join a rapidly growing SaaS company which provides market leading management software, mainly related to the healthcare sector.

Having secured another successful investment round to further growth within the company, they are now looking to at least double existing revenues in the next year. Current future plans include the launch of online services into the United States and other overseas territories, which has resulted in current requirements within the development teams.

Job Summary

You will work within the growing Engineering team to further develop their world class, web-based, healthcare platform.

Key Responsibilities:

*Working alongside the Product team to develop specification to a suitable quality and depth in order to ready them for development

*Working alongside the development team in an agile/scrum process to ensure features are developed on a timely basis to a high level of quality

*Working with the broader business in order to solve customer issues such as bugs, feature requests, etc.

*Performing code review and identifying opportunities to technically improve the product

Essential Experience:

*Extensive experience working in a strong PHP team on web based applications

*A background in computer science

*Experience working in Agile environment

*An expert in OOP

*Detailed understanding of Web architecture

*Experience of solving complex business problems with PHP

*Fluent in SQL, including data migration tasks

*Experience with BASH

*Experience with JavaScript and common libraries, such as JQuery

*familiarity with database administration and tools, such as stored procedures and optimization

*LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP/Perl) administration experience

Preferred experience

*Experience with testing frameworks such as PHPUnit, test-driven/behavior driven development experience advantageous

*Experience in a PCI-DSS or ISO 27001-compliant environment would be advantageous

*Basic understanding of other languages such as Ruby and Python advantageous

*Experience of queue technologies (eg RabbitMQ, ZeroMQ) advantageous

*Experience of other relevant technologies, such as build (Phing), test (Jenkins)
