THE ROLE:

The tasks planned, subject to agreement with the Service Manager, include:

* Creating test cases that functionally verify release content as well as previously existing functionality

* Contributing to engineering test cases based on release content and requirements

* Identifying and documenting defects consistently and clearly with the development team by using diagnostic test equipment

* Write problem descriptions and prepare test reports, and present verbally in one-on-one or group settings.

* Advises on fault diagnosis throughout NATO sites utilizing a number of management platforms (e.g. HP Network Automation, Netscout, Intermapper, Splunk, CA Spectrum)

* Identifies functional problems and suggests resolutions

* Assists in the definition of internal quality control standards and the maintenance of reliability programs

* Analyze test cases and provides regular progress reports

ESSENTAIL SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE

* Bachelor's degree (BA / BS) in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field

* Over 4 years' experience of CISCO Routing and Switching Elements or similar manufacturers.

* A minimum 5 years' experience in Information Technology

* A minimum of 4 years' administrative experience with Microsoft Windows 2008, 2012, Linux RedHat 6.x and above

* Over 4 years' experience in Enterprise software installations on production and testing environments

* Proven experience in upgrading processes for Windows and Linux based Operating Systems

* A high level of knowledge of latest LAN/WAN networks, and network concept.

* Conceptual understanding of Datacentre technologies and Virtualized Switching such as Hyper-V, VMWare and Nexus1000V

* Understanding of scripting languages/domain language. E.g. Python,

* Knowledge of communications protocols and practical experience of using diagnostic test equipment

* Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

* Experience with software/ hardware testing, verification, and validation

* Experience in test case authoring/ test case management/execution and test automation

* Ability to work with both internal and external (customer and contract) resources.

* Strong communication skills in English including the ability to write problem descriptions and test reports, and present verbally in one-on-one or group settings.

DESIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE

* University degree in a field related to the function of the post

* Prior experience of working in an international environment comprising both military and civilian elements

* 2 years' experience with software/hardware installation/ configuration

* Experience with Wireless/Network Security, Routing, Tunnelling, VLAN technologies

* Experience implementing and operating a multi-tenancy network environment (VRF/VLAN)

* Experience in change requests for software/ hardware with third party vendors and off-theshelf product integration testing perspective.

* Experience in analysing reports of tested software/ hardware products.

* Experience in software upgrades of Enterprise relates software products

* Experience in Administratively implementation of VMWare technology in production and reference

* Experience with Automated Testing tools

* Demonstrate experience and understanding of testing types, including Automation, Functional, End-to-End, and Regression testing

* Demonstrate understanding of testing issues within a complex project

* Experience in cloud based deployments of software devices

* Working knowledge of operating network authentication and authorization systems and technologies (e.g. Secure ACS 5.x, ISE, 802.1x, 802.1ae MACSEC, RADIUS, TACACS+)

* Hold one or more of the following IT security qualifications/certifications: o ISEB/ISTQB Foundation Certificate in Software Testing o A+ Certification
