IT Security Deployment Engineer

The Deployment Engineering team works with and supports the various Security Engineering groups by procuring, shipping and remotely managing the installation and decommissioning of the security hardware that is used within the firm. The list of supported products includes Firewalls, Proxies, NBAD, and IPS/IDS/Malware devices. This role is an individual contributor role focused on firewall and associated product deployment. Heavy coordination with other teams involved in Global DMZ build-outs in the firm including Network Team, Data Center teams etc are required. The role requires an individual that is technically proficient as well as a strong communicator with excellent attention to detail.

The ideal candidate will have:

* Moderate datacentre knowledge in terms of power & rackspace allocations for equipment as well as experience with equipment airflow and cooling characteristics & specifications

* Physical networking abilities (Knows how to cable RJ45 jacks, familiar with creating out-of-band dongles, modems, etc)

* Good networking fundamentals (OSI model, TCP Stack, Network design)

* Basic security hardware knowledge (knows what proxies, firewalls, servers, Network Intrusion Devices, etc are)

* Linux systems administration skills

* Scripting capabilities (Shell, python, perl)

* Solid hands-on firewall/router/switch configuration capabilities

Bonus Skills:

* Telecom/Datacenter experience

* Financial firms experience

* Strong Networking/Systems knowledge

Required Skills

* Knowledge of Juniper or Fortinet firewalls and experience supporting those products in a production environment

* Knowledge of NBAD (Network Behavior Anomaly Detection) products

* Lancope etc. Familiarity with modeling environments using similar products

* Knowledge of intrusion detection platforms (IDS) and intrusion prevention platforms (IPS)

* SourceFire, FirePower, IBM-ISS etc.

* Knowledge of Network Malware Controls

* FireEye, M86 etc

Soft skills required

Excellent written and oral communication skills. Fluent English is required .Strong interpersonal and communication skills; capable of writing documentation, training users in complex topics, making presentations to an internal audience, interacting with external vendors, and interacting positively with upper management, colleagues and customers. Comfortable working in an engineering role, with the need to provide escalation support for Operations, and the need to work well with other engineering groups (e.g. telco and web) to co-engineer solutions and products.
