Java Software Engineer Work from Home

My Birmingham based client is looking for an experienced software developer to either work from their Birmingham office or to work from home!

Working in an agile software development environment this newly created role will see you working in a small team of agile Java Software Engineers building AWS cloud hosted microservices!

Core responsibilities of this Java Software engineering role include, but are not limited to:

* Designing, developing and services with a focus on efficiency, scalability, stability

* Coding using Java

* Integrate with content providers and other external services

* Create clean, robust and scalable code

The successful candidate with ideally have a minimum of 3 years experience in software development / engineering

* A solid understanding of software engineering, best practices, object oriented design and MVC or other design patterns

* Experience designing, implementing and supporting highly scalable web applications in Java

* Experience with developing distributed services; common web services protocols (HTTP, REST); XML, XSLT and XPath;

* Experience with automated testing methodologies and frameworks, including JUnit;

* Any experience in noSQL, GIT, Gradle, Node.JS Bamboo or Jira, DDD or Amazon web services would be highly beneficial but not essential for the role

The successful candidate will have first class analytical and problem solving skills and well as the ability to thrive and work in a cross functional tam and ideally have a degree or similar in Computer Science or the equivalent.

In return for your skills my client is looking to pay to pay between £25000 and £40000 plus benefits which include the ability to work from home, travel discounts on hotels, air tickets and travel tickets

This Role can either be based in the Birmingham City Centre office, or from home with limited travel to the office!
