Role: Senior Java Developer

Location: Leeds

Length of contract: Until the end of the year but they are looking for people who will want to extend beyond this. Average contract length is 18 months with this company.

Rate: £420 - £460 daily rate

A leading organisation in Leeds are looking for a Senior Java Developer to join their team. This team are building and scaling a really interesting range of tech products which will be used widely by the general public. There's several brand new pieces of work to be developer over the next few months.

What will you be doing?

As a Java Developer, your skills will be utilised throughout all aspects of the agile software process. You'll be working to develop scalable and adaptable software solutions. You'll interpret business requirements and will perform all coding using best practice at all times. Your passion for technology will enable you to display initiative when investigating, analysing and fixing reported defects. Further to this, you'll work to continuously improve code. If you have the communication skills to build excellent relationships with key stakeholders in order to deliver new functionality, then we want to hear from you.

What skills/experience should you have?

* Highly experience Java engineer

* Worked extensively with Java 7/8 (they use Java 8)

* Experience working with Spring framework in commercial environment

* Full stack Java development experience (decent understanding of Javascript/Angular JS/React)

* Experience with build tools such as Maven/Gradle

* Highly experienced building RESTful web services/JSON

* Git source control

Desirable experience:

* Search software experience using Sonar/lucene

* True full stack experience (expert in Javascript)

* Knowledge of ELK stack

* Experience with Kafka

* Worked in Dev-Ops environments using Docker/Puppet/Chef
