Senior Security Engineer - Cloud and IT Security - London/Leeds

A key position for an established IT Security Professional, looking to take on more responsibility in a technical position and have more influence across an organisation.

Senior Security Engineer - to £75k + package

This is a key position collaborating with the Technology, Risk and Governance teams, and alongside company leadership to develop appropriate Architecture, technical solutions and standards to meet risk requirements.

You will be responsible for the design, test, and implementation of solutions based on policies and standards reviews as well as developing a cloud first mind set with infrastructure & development teams

* Work with the other enterprise architecture teams to ensure that there is a convergence of business, technical and security requirements; liaise with IT management to align existing technical installed base with future architectural requirements.

* Define Technical security standards to support policy/risk (with other teams)

* Select, Design and deployment of security tools and platforms for internal use

* Consult with IT and security staff to ensure that security is factored into the evaluation, selection, installation and configuration of hardware, applications and software.

* Work as a liaison with vendors and the legal and purchasing departments to establish mutually acceptable contracts and service-level agreements in delivery of projects

* Drive projects to comply with information security controls through the project delivery life-cycle

* End 2 End security solution (Risk identification, solution design/build, security validation/ 'accreditation' to operational handover, etc.) coordination across Technology risk team for change activities ensuring all aspects of security are being addressed by projects; People, Process & Technology.

* Data engineering for cybersecurity - Big Data, Logical databases, classification implementation, working with Data Governance, Privacy and Legal teams to align solutions and requirements.

* Assist resource owners and IT staff in understanding and responding to security requirements and controls.

Essential Skills

* Extensive experience in security engineering with hands on experience gained.

* Ability to ensure security of in-house developed applications, through secure code management. Including experience of automated security code testing and deployment processes/technologies

* Experience in Cloud architectures and engineering solutions to meet needs in the cloud.

* Ability to identify threats/risks and appropriate risk management / mitigating solutions.

* Identification and selection of security solutions

* Strong senior stakeholder management skills

* Strong communication and documentation skills with the ability to manage responsibilities across multiple areas.

* Technical hands on exposure to the various security products and platforms

Desirable Skills

* Experience of secure coding techniques and testing

* Experience with Azure / AWS security solutions

* Experience of providing technical security solutions within the Financial Sector
