Test Manager

Birmingham

50000 - 55000 per annum

The objective of the role will be to work within the testing team, supporting the BAT Test Programme Manager to deliver reliable, innovative and effective testing activities to ensure the business needs on time, budget and quality are met across the Transformation and Small Change portfolios.

This role will include the line management and development of Test Leads, Test Analysts and SMEs.

Areas of responsibility

* 1: 1 leadership and development of direct reports (including mentoring and coaching)

* defines strategy/approach for high / medium complexity projects and strategic deliveries

* work with PMs to provide testing input into project schedules (scope, test estimates and approach)

* interpretation of specifications and requirements to plan and execute robust test cases and coverage

* overall responsibility at project level for the delivery of all stages of testing through to end of warranty for high / medium complexity projects

* business resource identification & co-ordination throughout project

* ensure testing risks and issues are identified and mitigated against

Essential experience

* Very experienced in the discipline of testing and the part it plays in an organisation

* Accomplished delivery within a Test Manager role

* Full understanding of project / testing delivery environment that supports waterfall and agile

* Proven experience in producing effective test management documentation (test strategy/plan/approach)

* A proven people manager - clear, supportive, diligent and effective at managing under performance

* Experience in the use of a testing tool for design, execution management and defect recording

* Proven ability to build effective relationships with 3rd party suppliers, key stakeholders and internal teams

* Have thorough knowledge of testing techniques and be able to provide creative solutions to optimize test analysis and design in projects

* Ability to create and execute test scripts

Desirable

* Experience of mutli-supplier programme delivery

* Financial services experience

* Digital / Web based application experience

* CRM / Point of Sale knowledge

* Experience of working with Agile methodologies
