UI Designer - App Design, Web, Mobile, Media/ Digital

About the job

Designers are responsible for conceptualising and creating visually rich and engaging designs in support of all Sky's digital content, products and services. In addition, they help support the Design Director in executing the creative vision and strategy for achieving brand consistency across the digital estate, and ensuring brand and design consistency is adhered to and maintained at all times.

The seniority of the role reflects a proven track record in executing stunning design visuals, an ability to lead and evolve creative brand and consistency thinking, maintaining and updating all global brand guidelines, principles and templates, and the evolution and development of the Sky brand across the digital estate.

They will understand the importance of user-centered design and employ broader industry experience along with a wide range of media, applications and technologies to deliver world-class digital creative. The work ranges from producing digital design solutions for, but not limited to, web, TV, interactive, social, tablet and mobile services and applications.

In addition, they may also be required to mentor other colleagues and have an ability to communicate with confidence to senior stakeholders around the business.

What we're looking for

Responsibilities

* Idea / concept generation

* Design excellence and promotion of contemporary design thinking

* Execute design work that adheres to best practice brand and consistency standards

* Knowledge and thirst to investigate, innovate and develop emerging creative and technology trends

* Work to push boundaries and drive leading edge design

* Evolution and development of the Sky brand across our digital estate

* Ensure creative and UI coherence across the board

* Present and promote creative thinking within the design team

* Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships

Skills and experience

* Graduate degree in a design related field or equivalent experience

* 5 years minimum industry experience

* Experience in similar large media company or leading digital agency

* Ability to innovate, conceptualise, visualise, and create design solutions to a very high standard

* Solid understanding of visual and user-centered design, and how design can meet brand, business and strategic objectives

* Experience of designing digital services for consumption over web, mobile and social platforms

* Knowledge of the design, user experience and the technical tools required to create accessible and functional experiences for mobile and web based applications and services

* Ability to own and lead multiple projects, delivering on time and on brief

* Ability to work with individuals, other designers and creative teams to ensure the best possible creative execution and that the solution is on brand and consistent

* Ability to critique the work of other designers

* Ability to articulate design creative to both internal and external stakeholders

* Ability to manage, mentor and develop other designers

* Be self confident, flexible, motivated and an exceptional communicator

* Proficient with creative tools and applications, Sketch, InVision and Adobe Creative Suite
