Role: Java Developer

Salary: £300 - 325 per day

Location: Birmingham

I am currently recruiting for a Java Developer to work for a market leading company in Birmingham.

Job Scope:

To design, develop and support new systems and enhancements to existing systems, based on requirements obtained from customers and prospects. We are looking for a broad-based developer with real experience of Java and JEE application servers.

Experience / Skill Set:

*Several years of commercial development experience, covering the full software development lifecycle including estimation, design and deployment.

*Ability to gather requirements from users and document them in both a non-technical and technical manner.

*Expertise in the Java language and associated web technologies, including HTML, Javascript and CSS.

*Knowledge JEE application servers, preferably JBoss.

*Knowledge of Continuous Integration and automated unit testing.

*A good awareness of Web Security issues and designing and building applications to avoid common vulnerabilities.

*Good analytical skills.

*Familiarity with Unix and a broad background in development, preferably using C and/or C++

*Timely escalation of any risks and issues to the appropriate project manager and/or development manager

*Experience using enterprise databases, preferably Oracle RDBMS
